Bonny Bee’s location is set in a rural area of Southland.
Founded in January 2018, when there was a surplus of beeswax from my own beehives and wondered what it could be made into. With a yearning to keep products as natural as possible and through research and experimentation, the first products were made, which consisted of a healing balm, deodorant and solid perfumes. Bonny Bee was created.
The next thing was to decide on a logo. Dwelling on Scottish ancestry, I wanted to depict a coat of arms, so decided on creating a logo with a shield and a scotch thistle. The logo is now trademarked.
Since that initial starting point, and as demand grew, further products were made, creating a variety of balms, bars, salves, creams, and soaps.
Today, going from wondering what to do with some extra beeswax, the business has evolved and now makes a wide range of products, many of which don’t contain either beeswax and/or honey, but are all naturally great.
All products are handcrafted and sold under the name Bonny Bee.
