ALL the businesses listed on our marketplace are located in New Zealand.
All of the orders placed on our marketplace, will be sent from within New Zealand.
Every product on our marketplace is by a small kiwi business, when looking at the listing’s page, you can use the ‘contact vendor’ button to ask your question directly.
When you place an order on our marketplace, you can pay with your debit/credit card.
We use Stripe, a super safe and reputable payment portal
Your payment goes directly to our vendors, they have instant access to your order and the payment, providing they have set up their store correctly.
Some of our vendors enjoy our FREE plan with a success fee, which means they only pay a small fee when they have a sale but have no other costs to pay to The Hive NZ.
This will be a question you will need to direct to the business you have order from on our marketplace.
The order information as well as payment goes directly to our vendors and it is solely their responsibility to make sure you receive what you ordered within the timeframe listed.
Having said that, if you have tried to resolve your issue with the vendor and you believe they are breaching NZ laws, The Hive NZ can make an effort to resolve the issue. However, there is no guarantees; When you buy a product or a service on our website, this is an agreement solely between you and the vendor(s) you are buying from. The Hive NZ functions as a marketplace and therefore has no role or responsibility in the agreement or contract.
If you have chosen – when ordering – the shipping option that comes with tracking, the vendor you have ordered from will update the order (once they have sent it) and include the tracking number for you.

Each individual vendor on our marketplace, sets up their own shipping.
When you order, you will be able to see the shipping settings made available by each vendor you are ordering from.
You can see this when you click to ‘view cart’ as well as when you go to check out.
if you see ‘there is no shipping set up for this location’ it is highly likely the vendor has either not set up for your region (yet) or they do not ship to your location. To request/discuss shipping details, you can contact each vendor on our marketplace directly from their product page as well as their store page.

However, each vendor has the choice to pick which regions/countries they send their products to.

Once you have placed an order as a registered customer, you can leave a review on a product listing itself as well as on the store page, both help our vendors immensely!
The Hive NZ allows ANY type of small kiwi business to join!
Whether you create here in beautiful New Zealand or not, whether you sell products or services, whether you sell physical products or digital ones… you are ALL welcome!
We also do not limit businesses from a certain industry – you will need to be able to embrace ‘competition’ when you want to be serious in business.

Any of our plans are fantastic as a mini-website for your small business and you can absolutely use it as your main point of sales.
Our PRIME Royal Bee plan comes with a joining/renewal fee but that’s it – no other costs* and that includes NO success fee!
For that you receive allll the perks like pre approval, free promotions on The Hive’s socials, free featured listings, you logo on the home page, and so much more

In the process of setting up your Hive store, you will be prompted to connect to your Stripe account. Once you do so, all your order payments will go directly to your Stripe account minus any applicable fees.
Only vendors on our FREE Introductory Bumble Bee plan, pay a success fee over sales; 10% (15% from 3rd April 2023)
This success fee gets taken off your order amount (not incl shipping) before you get paid into your Stripe account.
All vendors pay the Stripe fees, these get taken off your order amount before you get paid into your Stripe account.

IMPORTANT: Should you choose not to connect your STRIPE, this means order payments will go directly to The Hive NZ’s Stripe account. You will then have to request your payment into your bank account number. This can take up to 10 working days and comes with a $5 admin fee to The Hive NZ
The Hive uses Stripe as the payment portal for orders, for your to get paid directly, you will need to connect to your own Stripe account.
If you do not have one, you can easily – and for free – set one up when you go to Vendor Dashboard > Settings > Payment
Do not WANT a Stripe account or having issues setting one up?
Please contact ADMIN asap as we might have a solution for you!
There could be a few reasons; have you set up your shipping and is it set correctly? Also, is your Stripe connected?
These are both things that can stop your products from going live.
When on our Royal Bee plan, we let you list a few products BEFORE you go on pre-approval. It is to prevent listings going live before a store is properly set up as well as to stop spammers who might have slipped through our net.
When on our introductory FREE Bumble Bee plan, your edits and new listings ALWAYS go to admin for approval.
We aim to approve your listings within 3-5 working days but it can happen much quicker too, especially if the guides/guidelines are followed.
Waiting too long? Please get in touch with ADMIN, sometimes we don’t get notified of a store completing all the steps, it happens! so please contact us!
We’re not super strict here as the main objective is getting you exposure; a bigger audience and guidance on how to generate more sales for your business.
However, we are a business and therefore we have to have SOME rules of course.
External links/Referrals;
we only allow external links on your vendor dashboard>settings>social profile.
The prime objective is to keep our customers on our website and not actively push them elsewhere, so you are not allowed to refer to or add in external links of ANY kind within your listings, business description or any other content on your Hive store content.
Illegal Activities;
You cannot list products or services not allowed to be sold within New Zealand OR to the country you are selling to outside of New Zealand. It is VERY important you understand you are responsible for knowing the laws that apply to you.

Short answer; YES!
You can use your Hive store as your main website and use your own domain; simply forward your domain to your store page link.
The benefits? Not only can you enjoy the power of the collective pulling an a huge audience for you, you can also use all your own branding on your marketing materials like business cards, flyers etc and it still lands people on your Hive store.
