That’s Not My Handbag, Either

You might recall the name Grace Millane, a young woman murdered by a man she met on a dating app, while travelling in New Zealand in 2018. One of the ways Grace’s family honour her memory is working to empower women that have been affected by family violence.

In association with Women’s Refuges, The “Love Grace” appeal collects handbags and fills them with 6 essential items (and optional extras)  for women in need.

From an initial target of 50 bags, more than 7,000 Love Grace handbags have distributed across the UK, NZ and Singapore.

This year’s campaign launches 14th February (Valentine’s Day) and runs through to 8th March (International Women’s Day). If you’d like to get involved, here’s what you need to know:

Anyone forced to change their behaviour because they are frightened of their partner or ex-partner’s reaction is experiencing abuse. Domestic abuse can happen to anyone, regardless of age, background, gender, religion, sexuality or ethnicity. Domestic abuse is never the fault of the person who is experiencing it. Domestic abuse is a crime.

The Bag

It doesn’t have to be a brand new bag, AS LONG AS it’s in extraordinarily good condition, and big enough to hold lots of items – roughly 30 cm.

If you’re considering a second-hand hand bag, the rule of thumb is, if you wouldn’t be DELIGHTED to receive it, then that’s not the bag to use.

The bags are symbols of love, support and hope for women starting over after unimaginable hardships.

There’s a reason why the toiletries aren’t delivered in boxes or supermarket bags. Sure, they carry essential items, but the bag itself is a non-essential. It’s a gift. It’s a taonga. So it’s super important that the bag conveys dignity.

There’s a difference between a gently used item, and someone else’s cast-offs. This isn’t the space for “they should be grateful to be given anything at all”.
Don’t be that person.

5 Creative Ways to Style Your Desk or Workspace with Art

Your desk isn’t just a place to work—it’s where the magic happens! Whether you’re grinding through deadlines, working on your passion project, or just pretending to be productive while sipping coffee, your workspace should feel inspiring and totally you. The easiest way to give it a glow-up? Art! If you’re looking for creative ways to style your desk with art, you’re in the right place. Here are five fun and easy ideas to transform your workspace into a space you actually enjoy.

1. The Power of Motivation

Nothing gets you through a tough workday like a little pep talk! Hang up a print with an empowering quote, an affirmation, or even just a fun phrase that hypes you up. Think: You got this! or Make it happen! Every time you glance up, it’ll be a mini confidence boost.

2. Mini Gallery Wall Magic

Who says gallery walls are just for living rooms? Create a mini version right above your desk with a mix of prints that make you smile. Combine inspiring quotes, cute illustrations, and maybe even a custom star map from Autumn Designs (because your dreams are written in the stars, after all!).

3. Desk-Sized Prints & Frames

If wall space is tight, opt for small framed prints that you can place right on your desk. Think postcard-sized art, little bursts of color, or a minimalistic design that keeps things chic. Bonus points if you mix it up with different frame styles for a cool, curated look.

4. Seasonal Switch-Ups

Bored of your space? Keep things fresh by changing your prints with the seasons! Bright florals for spring, cozy tones for autumn, and festive cheer for the holidays—your workspace will always feel fun and new. Plus, it’s a great excuse to keep collecting cute prints!

5. Personal Touches & Custom Art

Your workspace should reflect you, so make it personal! A custom print with your name, a favourite quote, or even a star map of a special date adds a unique touch that makes your desk feel extra special. Lucky for you, Autumn Designs has plenty of personalised options to bring your vision to life!
