Whether you own a gift shop or need items for your home-staging business; you will be looking to buy products at wholesale prices. Here, on The Hive NZ Marketplace you can request to become a wholesale buyer and start buying at wholesale pricing after approval!
Yes, we need to approve you as we are very protective over our vendors and want to make sure they get the best deals for their business while still making it profitable for you. It is – for that reason – important that you remember; we’re all here for the same reason… to keep small businesses (like yours) in New Zealand THRIVING.
Below you will find a form to fill in, it will give us the info we need after which we can approve your request to become a wholesale buyer on our marketplace.
This page outlines the key terms, expectations, and guidelines you agree to when joining our marketplace as a wholesale buyer.
By signing up or making a wholesale purchase, you confirm that you have read, understood, and accepted the information provided here and in the form.
We’re always on the lookout for more wholesale buyers, with the aim to create a situation where you will be able to make a profit while our small business owners are also still taking a fair share. For this reason we are looking to add smaller wholesale buyers like giftbox companies, gift shops, real estate agents, media/advertising businesses etc.
As we’re providing wholesale options for small New Zealand businesses, this means they also, generally speaking, do not have big production lines and therefor the minimum number of items to order can be smaller. Ideal when you run a small gift shop or are just looking for corporate gifts for this year’s Christmas event.
The vendors themselves decide what their minimum unit amount is per wholesale order and this is clearly showing on their product pages.
With the option – as well – to create a quote request, it means you can request bigger orders and better pricing where you want to. The vendors have access to your basic information like your email and phone number so they are able to start a direct line of communication with you.
We’ve kept it nice and easy
By registering and buying as a wholesale customer, you agree to all the terms here in this page as well as guidelines given to you by admin outside of this page
There’s a few conditions of the utmost importance though to keep your wholesale buyer privileges:
To explain the above; we as a team here at The Hive NZ Marketplace put in a huge amount of FREE time to have this process available and make it as easy as possible for all parties involved. When you place an order with some of our vendors, this gives The Hive NZ 15% of the order price. This is because these vendors use our system for FREE – no cost at all – until they get a sale. The amount of energy we have put into this vendor, we hope to recuperate just a little with the success fee.
THAT’S IT! it really is that simple – we should now have all the information we need to make sure you are the right fit for our wholesale marketplace but if we have any questions; we will get in touch with you within 5 working days on the email you have provided when registering.
Oh ONE more thing; come and join our Wholesale Buy & Sell group on Facebook!
When you are approved as a wholesale buyer on The Hive NZ, it means you see added information on product listings.
From here, the process for wholesale buying is super easy;
Click to go to a listing and fill in details if needed (like the above example is showing),
pick the option you want to buy or just choose the minimum required number of products and click ‘add to cart’
(the (sub)total will be adjusted when at cart/checkout)
check the details, choose your shipping, fill in your card details and agree to the T&C’s before hitting ‘place order’
That’s it – easypeasy!
When you are approved as a wholesale buyer on The Hive NZ, it means you see added information on product listings.
As you can see in the above images, as an approved wholesale buyer on The Hive NZ, you can see it when a vendor has added wholesale pricing to a listing AND you can see the ‘make an offer’ button on the listing.
Use OFFERS/QUOTES when you want to buy a different number of a product at a certain price, than mentioned in the wholesale pricing listed on the product. OR when you see a product which has no wholesale pricing mentioned at all and you would like to purchase it in certain numbers at a certain price per unit.
Let’s get you started;
When a listing has options, make sure you choose which option you are looking to purchase at wholesale price.
Then click ‘make an offer’
This opens up the above screen where you first change (or leave as is) the price per unit and then the number of products you would like to purchase.
Scroll down to the next section:
IMPORTANT: your personal information is using an AUTO FILL, please check the information is the correct information!
At the bottom, you can leave the date you would like delivery by – PLEASE MAKE SURE you have checked the vendor’s information on the listing as most items are handmade and will need a processing time.
You can also leave a message to the vendor here.
Once you have hit the ‘place quotation’ button, you will see the above and the vendor gets notified via email and within their vendor dashboard.
Now it is up to the vendor to review your offer and either accept OR counter offer.
You will get notified via email and you will see the offer has changed in your customer dashboard (find your offers/quotes on your dashboard tab; ‘request quotes’).
You can see here now what your offered price was and what the vendor would agree to.
You now have the option to cancel or accept.
Cancel will cancel the whole process
Accept will change the offer:
As you can see, there is a timeframe in which you need to complete the payment on a accepted offer.
To complete, you will need to hit ‘convert to order’ which will take you to checkout with the order details and the payment screen.
Once paid, the order process is like any other – with the terms you agree on – and our site’s terms & conditions apply, hence why you need to confirm you agree to our T&C.
Once payment has been made, you will now find it in your ‘order’ tab of your customer dashboard.
