BECOME A WHOLESALE BUYER ON THE HIVE NZ

Whether you own a gift shop or need items for your home-staging business; you will be looking to buy products at wholesale prices. Here, on The Hive NZ Marketplace you can request to become a wholesale buyer and start buying at wholesale pricing after approval!

Yes, we need to approve you as we are very protective over our vendors and want to make sure they get the best deals for their business while still making it profitable for you. It is – for that reason – important that you remember; we’re all here for the same reason… to keep small businesses (like yours) in New Zealand THRIVING.

Below you will find a form to fill in, it will give us the info we need after which we can approve your request to become a wholesale buyer on our marketplace.

This page outlines the key terms, expectations, and guidelines you agree to when joining our marketplace as a wholesale buyer.

By signing up or making a wholesale purchase, you confirm that you have read, understood, and accepted the information provided here and in the form.

IMPORTANT (LEGAL) INFORMATION

Who we are approving as Wholesale Buyers

We’re always on the lookout for more wholesale buyers, with the aim to create a situation where you will be able to make a profit while our small business owners are also still taking a fair share. For this reason we are looking to add smaller wholesale buyers like giftbox companies, gift shops, real estate agents, media/advertising businesses etc.

Minimum order amounts for Wholesale Buyers

As we’re providing wholesale options for small New Zealand businesses, this means they also, generally speaking, do not have big production lines and therefor the minimum number of items to order can be smaller. Ideal when you run a small gift shop or are just looking for corporate gifts for this year’s Christmas event.

The vendors themselves decide what their minimum unit amount is per wholesale order and this is clearly showing on their product pages.

With the option – as well – to create a quote request, it means you can request bigger orders and better pricing where you want to. The vendors have access to your basic information like your email and phone number so they are able to start a direct line of communication with you.

How it works

We’ve kept it nice and easy

  • To see the wholesale pricing, you need to request and be approved as a wholesale buyer
  • When approved and you browse our marketplace – with thousands of products  by small kiwi businesses  – you will see wholesale pricing where vendors have chosen to add it.
  • We’ve made browsing for wholesale priced items really easy by making it part of our site menu but you can also browse and shop on the whole site and request quotes for wholesale pricing when you see something you would like to buy.
  • You either add the items to your cart at already set wholesale pricing, pay and get them shipped to you
  • OR you request to buy for a certain number of products and pricing per product by using our ‘quote’/’make an offer’ feature and when the vendor accepts your offer for price per unit, number of units and delivery timeframe, then the quote turns into an order for you to purchase as normal (for a step by step on how this works, please scroll to the ‘step by step information‘ section below).
The terms you agree to

By registering and buying as a wholesale customer, you agree to all the terms here in this page as well as guidelines given to you by admin outside of this page

There’s a few conditions of the utmost importance though to keep your wholesale buyer privileges:

  • Never ask a vendor to complete a wholesale sale outside of The Hive’s platform.
  • Never accept a vendor offering a wholesale sale outside of The Hive’s platform.

To explain the above; we as a team here at The Hive NZ Marketplace put in a huge amount of FREE time to have this process available and make it as easy as possible for all parties involved. When you place an order with some of our vendors, this gives The Hive NZ 15% of the order price. This is because these vendors use our system for FREE – no cost at all – until they get a sale. The amount of energy we have put into this vendor, we hope to recuperate just a little with the success fee.

  • When buying wholesale to sell the product yourself; Unless you have agreed with the vendor in question; always honor the vendor’s retail price. Never charge less as your regular price – especially not online. This excludes occasional, seasonal sales/discounts.
  • Unless agreed with the vendor in question; never white label the products you buy. If you intend to do this, use the ‘contact vendor’ button to agree to this in writing BEFORE placing a wholesale order.
  • When you and the vendor need to agree on special terms, outside of the scope mentioned here, it is up to the two parties to get this in writing and signed but the order placing will still need to happen here on The Hive NZ Marketplace site.
  • We expect full confidentiality from both the vendor and you as the buyer to protect pricing, trade secrets, or unique production methods.
  • All standard Terms and Conditions of The Hive NZ Marketplace apply equally to wholesale orders. This includes policies around conduct, payments, use of the platform, and any other general terms outlined in our main Terms & Conditions, which wholesale buyers agree to by participating in wholesale purchasing.
  • Even though we will do all we can to inform and educate our vendors as best as we can, The Hive NZ is not and cannot be held responsible for any seller’s products as shown on our website nor seller’s decisions in their business process like complying to NZ law where applicable – as also clearly stated in our customer’s Terms & Conditions linked above.
  • The Hive NZ Marketplace acts solely as a platform connecting wholesale buyers and vendors. As such, we are not legally liable for any issues, disputes, or losses that may arise from wholesale orders placed through the platform.
Important to note:
  • Most of our vendors are micro businesses, crafters, creatives. They have, more than likely, very little experience with wholesale selling and we not only ask you to be patient and kind, we also will very much support them in their journey and always advise them to act on the side of caution.
  • Because of the size of business most our vendors have, the majority of them are not GST registered.
